Vienna, Austria (TRI) — The Ferien-Messe Wien 2026, Austria’s premier public tourism fair, is scheduled to open its doors next Thursday, January 15, 2026, at VIECON Messe Wien, transforming the exhibition center into a comprehensive showcase of worldwide destinations and emerging travel trends.

Running through Sunday, January 18, the four-day event will feature approximately 430 exhibitors from more than 70 countries, offering visitors a broad spectrum of holiday options ranging from luxury escapes and adventure expeditions to family-friendly getaways and wellness retreats.

This year’s official partner country, Sri Lanka, will command a prominent spotlight with a dedicated pavilion highlighting the island nation’s cultural heritage, natural landscapes, tea ceremonies, traditional Kandyan dance performances, and signature cuisine. The focus underscores Sri Lanka’s growing appeal as a diverse, family-oriented destination, recently recognized by Condé Nast Traveller as one of the world’s most family-friendly countries.

Complementing the tourism offerings is the second edition of Vienna Drive – Mobilitätstage, a parallel mobility exposition occupying an entire hall. The showcase will present more than 250 vehicles, including the latest electric and hybrid models, classic automobiles, motorcycles, and innovative two-wheelers, with a strong emphasis on sustainable transport solutions and future mobility trends.

Organizers expect attendance to match or exceed last year’s figures of over 71,000 visitors, drawn by the fair’s blend of expert-led lectures, interactive workshops, live culinary demonstrations, film screenings, and exclusive on-site promotions.

The event aligns with a broader European tourism recovery, providing a key platform for destination marketing, bilateral discussions among tourism officials, and consumer planning on trends like sustainable tourism and digital transformation.
